Good afternoon,

We are having a potential issue with our water supply underneath our kitchen unit. As you will see from the recording ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5ch96ub5pgak ... OV?dl=0&m= ), it appears that a very loud noise is emanating from the pipe.

This does not occur during any specific activity however, and can happen when we do not use the sink/toilet etc. However, we are in a block of flats and I believe the plumbing is connected so it could be when another tenant is using their water supply?

I wonder if you could listen to the recording and advise as to whether this could be a water hammer?

i go with that, rats chewing the pipe or water dripping into it.
bang a screwdriver handle on it when it happend- if its rats should go quiet.
also, study the recording frequency for a pattern.
