perfectly normal.
3-4'' of water, it gets hot as it expands up the vent pipe-into tank and back down heating system. only thing you need to check is the pump speed is set right to minimise pumping over ie thats too much of a cycle of water occuring.
good idea to tie up ball rooster and wet n dry-vac tank clean why your at it as that ends up back in the system.
