As per the title really, is there a limit time wise?

Depends on the manufacturer, there's usually the info required on the side of the bottle but it's usually at least a couple of days and no more than a week.....

It does all depends on what it say's on the tin but usually a few days.

I will admit to leaving X800 in a system for 3 weeks and usually for at lest 3 days prior to flushing. The 3 week system did have a zombie boiler which is still going strong 9 years later.

Adey say their MC3 will become inactive after a week or so. I seem to remember Fernox saying something similar. I wouldn't want to leave FX2 in for even a couple of days. It is the most aggressive of all of them in my experience...
